About CourtLookup

"Inspired by human experience, powered by AI intelligence"

Our Mission

If you've ever been handed a stack of legal documents and felt lost — you're not alone. Understanding where your case stands shouldn't require a law degree or thousands of dollars in attorney fees. But for most people, the legal system is opaque. Court documents are dense, legal strategy is invisible, and getting an honest assessment means expensive professional analysis.

CourtLookup exists because that's exactly what happened to our founder — and he built the tool he wished existed. Our platform reads every document, cross-references the evidence, challenges both sides' arguments, and delivers a comprehensive, honest assessment of where your case stands.

Whether you're an attorney preparing for trial, a business evaluating litigation risk, or an individual wondering "do I have a case?" — CourtLookup gives you clarity, fast.

About the Founder

Since 2004, I built itsmyseat.com and laconcertgroup.com — a self-built concert and event ticket ecosystem that at its peak was producing over $5 million in annual sales. Then in 2019, a fraudulent bait-and-switch lending scheme turned everything upside down. What was supposed to be a business loan became a legal nightmare that has consumed the last seven years of my life — and counting.

Through this experience, I learned firsthand how overwhelming the legal system can be. Hundreds of documents piling up. Dense legal filings that take hours to decipher. The constant uncertainty of not knowing where your case really stands. Even with an attorney, I spent countless nights reading court filings, trying to piece together the full picture myself. Having legal representation doesn't mean you understand your own case — it just means someone else is managing the confusion for you. I wanted a tool that would show me everything clearly — one that would analyze every document, show me both sides of the argument, and tell me honestly what a judge might think.

That tool didn't exist. So I built it.

CourtLookup started as a personal project — a way to make sense of my own case. But as I developed it, I realized this wasn't just my problem. Every litigant, every person considering legal action, faces the same overwhelming challenge. And attorneys face it too — drowning in documents, spending hours on case prep that could be accelerated with the right technology.

With over 20 years of software engineering experience, I had the technical skills to build what the legal industry was missing. Seven years of navigating the confusion of the legal system gave me the motivation. The combination of engineering background and real-world legal experience is what makes CourtLookup different — it wasn't designed in a boardroom, it was forged in a courtroom.

The difference between CourtLookup and the enterprise legal software out there? We focus on what matters. No bloated features, no complicated setup, no six-figure contracts. Just upload your documents, and get a clear, honest, multi-perspective analysis of your case. Built by someone who needed it, for everyone who needs it.

My case (Case 2:22-cv-02192, U.S. District Court | article) is still active, with trial set for December 2026. I share this not for sympathy, but because I believe transparency builds trust — and because this experience is exactly why CourtLookup exists.

What inspired this journey:

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas — the first book I ever read as a teenager. A story about a man who loses everything to injustice, and comes back against all odds to seek the truth. It stayed with me for decades, and when my own legal battle began, it reminded me that persistence and intelligence can overcome any obstacle. If you haven't read the novel, the 2024 film is an excellent adaptation.

Flash of Genius — the true story of an inventor who fought a major corporation for years to protect what was rightfully his. A must-watch for any attorney — a powerful reminder to get off the path of least resistance and pursue true justice.

What Makes Us Different

3-Perspective Analysis

Every document is analyzed from three angles: a plaintiff attorney looking for strengths, a defense attorney looking for weaknesses, and a judge evaluating the evidence objectively.

Built-In Skepticism

Our AI doesn't just summarize — it actively challenges both sides of every argument, catching logical flaws, circular reasoning, and weak evidence that surface-level analysis misses.

Full Evidence Mapping

Every document is cross-referenced against every other document — checking timelines, finding contradictions, and connecting evidence across your entire case file.

"But I can do this on my AI chat..."

We hear this a lot. Here's what's actually different:

1

Chat AI gives you one perspective. We give you three.

Every document is analyzed separately by a plaintiff attorney, a defense attorney, and a judge. ChatGPT gives you one generic summary. We give you the argument from both sides and a judicial evaluation — so you see what each side would actually say in court.

2

Chat AI can't cross-reference 50+ documents.

You can't paste 50 PDFs into ChatGPT. Even if you could, it would summarize — not analyze. Our Evidence Ledger cross-references every document against every other document, checking timelines, catching contradictions, and connecting evidence that individual reads would miss. Our system has been stress-tested on cases with over 250 documents.

3

Chat AI doesn't catch logical flaws.

Our adversarial debate system has AI attorneys argue both sides while an AI judge evaluates their arguments for circular reasoning, blame-shifting, selective evidence, and cause-and-effect separation. A chat AI would adopt either side's framing as fact. Ours challenges both.

4

Chat AI doesn't give you a case strategy.

We deliver case strength scores, plaintiff and defendant strategy breakdowns with pros and cons, possible outcomes for each side, realistic damages estimates, and recommended next steps. A chat AI gives you a paragraph.

5

Chat AI forgets most everything when you close the tab.

Your report, documents, and full analysis are saved to your account permanently. Ask follow-up questions anytime with full context. Upload new documents as your case evolves and re-analyze — the AI builds on everything it already knows.
